On a fine Sunday morning of 15th March, the Malaysian Chinese Student Community of Volgograd State Medical University had organized a Chinese New Year celebration festival with the theme: Chronicles of the Flying sheep. The theme reflects the fact that they as overseas students do not have a chance to celebrate this important festival back at home, so they adapted and celebrate in a land far away from home, as a big family.

The event was held in Hiroshima Hostel hall and was attended by various nationalities, namely, Malaysians, Vietnamese, Russians, Chinese and Indians. The concept of this event, is international culture sharing, with “making new friends of other nationalities and understanding each other's culture” as the main aim. Mandarin oranges (Bliss) were given out as door gifts.
