On the 5^th of October, 2011 took place the Solemn opening ceremony of the Museum of History of Volgograd State Medical University. Among the invited visitors were veterans of the University, Heads of structural divisions of the VolSMU, also the participants of the international conference - Steering Committee Tempus-IV- foreign visitors and also our compatriots.

The opening ceremony begun with welcome address of the Chancellor of Volgograd Medical University, full member of the Russian Academy for Medical Sciences Vladimir I. Petrov. He noticed the importance of historical memory and thanked the workers of the Museum for their hard working during preparation this new exposition.

The greetings to the University on the occasion of the rebirth of the Museum sent the Chair of the Head of the Regional Public Health Department Dr. Vladimir V. Shkarin, the graduate of the University. The Deputy of the Chair of Committee on culture of the Administration of Volgograd region A. Sitnikov, the Head of the State Archives of Volgograd region A. Kolomytkin congratulated the University on this solemn event.

Finally, the Associate professor of Hospital Therapeutics Department, Martial Therapeutics with course of clinical rheumatology of Advance courses and continuing education Department, Ms. Nina A. Phaphonova, and the Head of the Museum, Ms. Elena V. Komisarova addressed to the guests.
